Raised in a Christian family, I have always known the Gospel and Church in my life, though it didn't become real for me till I was 12 years old when God revealed himself to me. Since I have lived a life walking with Jesus, who has carried me through the pains and joys of life. Being a Christian doesn't mean a easy life, it is a recognition of my imperfection and sin, but with the knowledge that I can live in hope because of the sacrificial love that Jesus showed on the cross. This is the basis of my life with the aspiration to share that same love with everyone around me, but I am still human and I make mistakes, but the grace of God is there to build me up again.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God"- Ephesians 2:8

 

A life long fan of film, my love for the cinema grew extensively after seeing The Dark Knight (2008) in cinemas, followed two years later by the release of Inception (2010) which altered my perception and engagement with the complexity of film. Both film's coincidentally directed by Sir Christopher Nolan who I would discover was my favourite filmmaker.  As my interest expanded to world cinema and art-house film during my teens, my world was turned further upside down by the work of directors like the late great David Lynch, who demonstrated the true limitless nature of cinema as art and how far it can reach the uncharted corners of the mind and soul. I believe my love for films is not just a simple hobby, but a passion for something that can have real positive change and influence as it reflects the broken world we live but also the routes of salvation. The great American film critic Roger Ebert said it best:

"the movies are like a machine that generates empathy. It lets you understand a little bit more about different hopes, aspirations, dreams and fears. It helps us to identify with the people who are sharing this journey with us.”
